playing with materials, leaves

Made by importing a couple of images from photoshop into max and using the materials tab to add texture using the bump setting and the specular settings. Also gave it shape using the soft select tool.

Meerkat, Bats and a Manta Ray

This is the 3 animals i have chosen as i believe there is a great deal of diversity between them both behaviorly and physically. also they show a range of forms completly different from each other.

Assignment impressions

Just got the new assignment the one for the first semester the 3d stamps doesnt sound amazingly interesting but does sound like a straight forward enough way to learn how to use the software.
my first ideas are to do 3 different examples of animals one from the air, one from the ground and one from the sea e.g Hawk for one, Meerkat for another and blue whale for the third.
another idea could be to have one plant one animal and one bacteria.
not sure which to do though am leaning towards the second one as this shows more of biodiversty.
